Senior Application Engineer
Exclara Inc. operates as a fabless semiconductor company, developing digital controllers for LED drivers, utilizing international contract manufacturing and foundries for ICs fabrication. Exclara Inc. products are a family of integrated chips (ICs) and LED driver modules. To achieve high efficiency, low cost and small size of lighting modules Exclara Inc. has developed new approaches to:
- IC Architecture Optimization,
- Digital Power and Control technology,
- System level solutions, innovative optimized system topologies for LED drivers.
Exclara Inc. is looking for a highly qualified Power supply Engineer with total over 10 years of experience. Several years of full life-cycle HB-LED development in one of the following Solid State Lighting markets: residential or industrial lighting, LCD backlighting, signage, traffic lights, architectural will be a plus.
The successful candidate will promote Exclara Inc.’s digital power management products, (driver and controller) by providing technical support in the form of reference designs or documentation as well as customer assistance. The candidate will develop creative applications for existing products; provide customer design-in support and debug.
We need a strong Engineer who can understand the technology and use it to make contributions, immediately and on an ongoing basis. The candidate will develop evaluation modules and reference designs, draft application notes and technical articles provide training in the field, coach customers and provide feedback concerning lessons learning to improve the development process. He/she also will have an opportunity to assist in defining new products. In this role, the candidate will lead application development teams and represent the applications department in technology development efforts
Principle accountability:
- Work with customers to architect, design, develop, integrate, and bring-up modules and systems for Solid State Lighting and associate applications.
- Working with IC development team to define the IC and develop supporting engineering documentation and demo platforms.
- Conduct extensive system performance analysis, optimization, and trouble-shooting.
- Provide on-site customer support, demo, and training. Traveling will be required
Qualification:
- 10+ years experience in power systems design (AC/DC or DC/DC converters, Microcontrollers, closed feedback loops, PCB design, thermal management, integrated circuits application), including experience in HB LED applications. Knowledge of AC/DC converters with PFC is a big plus.
- Excellent personal and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to write white papers, design guidelines, applications notes and Data sheets
- Understanding of applicable standards and safety regulations.
- Undergraduate electrical engineering. Phd or Masters degree in EE is preferred.
