Shri Dodani - President and Chief Executive Officer

Shri Dodani is a veteran executive of both the computer and communications industry with engineering, sales and marketing experience at major silicon, systems and software companies.

Shri’s extensive experience in technology and management with large companies such as Intel, Nortel and Alcatel Lucent, and entrepreneurial experience, has helped him launch successful start ups including StrataLight (OPXT), VxTel, and Carrier Access Corp. (CACS) with multiple products in multi-hundred millions of revenue to generate substantial shareholder returns.

Prior to joining Exclara, Mr. Dodani was President and CEO at StrataLight Communications. Prior to that, he held several executive positions at Intel, including business development in the Consumer Electronics Group and general management in the Communications Group. Mr. Dodani was the President and CEO at VxTel, a Silicon Valley Voice-over-IP silicon and software start-up that was acquired by Intel.

Eric O’Brien, Managing Director, Lightspeed Venture Partners

Eric invests in a variety of sectors including software, datacenter infrastructure, technology-enabled financial services and semiconductors. Additionally, he helps oversee Lightspeed's investment efforts in China. He has thirteen years of venture capital experience and two years of industry experience.

Previously, Eric worked in product management at Ciena (formerly Lightera Networks). Prior to Ciena, he served as an Associate at InterWest Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm, where he focused on communications and software investments and as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley in the telecom mergers and acquisitions group.

Eric holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University. He is a member of the Advisory Board of DT Capital, a Shanghai-based venture capital firm of which Lightspeed is a limited partner. He is also Chairman of Partners in School Innovation, an educational nonprofit working to improve student learning in low-income Bay Area public schools.

Jim Diller, VT Alliance

Jim is a semiconductor industry veteran with 20 years of senior management experience. Most recently, Jim managed an investment fund doing angel investing in start-up companies.

Prior to his investment management role, Jim was CEO of Altos Semiconductor, a start-up company in thermal and system management, which was later sold to Micrel. He has also held various positions at National Semiconductor, including Vice President of the System Products Group.

Jim holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Jim serves on the board of directors of Abound Logic (formerly M2000), Advasense, BridgeLux, Exclara, Optichron, Powervation, and Mach Energy. Jim also is a board observer at Axiom Microdevices, Aquantia, and SVTC.

Victor Westerlind, General Partner, RockPort Capital

Victor joined RockPort Capital in their Menlo Park, California office. Previously, he spent eight years as a venture capitalist at InterWest Partners working on investments in semiconductor, advanced materials, Cleantech, wireless and enterprise hardware industries. Earlier, he worked in product marketing and product management roles at Applied Materials where he help bring semiconductor physical vapor deposition (PVD) equipment into the flat panel display industry. Before that, he worked as an engineer in a venture backed startup called Candescent Technologies developing a novel field emission flat panel display technology, gaining valuable experience commercializing new technologies.

Victor started his career at Hughes Aircraft Company working on a number of engineering projects ranging from missile defense systems to satellite communications systems. He attended Stanford University on Hughes Fellowship where he focused on Micro Electro Mechanical Structures (MEMS). Victor holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Umesh Padval, Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners

Umesh Padval, a partner in Bessemer’s Menlo Park, Calif. office, joined the firm in 2007. At Bessemer, he focuses on the IT and clean-tech sectors.

Currently, Umesh sits on the boards of Avnera, a fabless analog-semiconductor company; low-power, non-volatile magnetic-memory company Avalanche Technologies; Berkeley Design Automation, an analog EDA company; Pinnacle Engines, formerly known as Cleeves Engines, which makes internal-combustion engines; Powergenix, a maker of nickel-zinc rechargeable batteries; LED power-management company Exclara; and utility-scale, energy-management company Xtreme Power. He also sits on the boards of semiconductor companies Entropic Communications (NASDAQ: ENTR), Integrated Device Technology (NASDAQ: IDTI) and Monolithic Power Systems (NADSAQ:MPS). Umesh was previously on the boards of C-Cube Microsystems, Elantec Semiconductor and Pictos Technologies.

Umesh brings to Bessemer more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and general management in areas including computing, mobile communications and consumer-digital entertainment. He joined Bessemer from LSI Logic, where he was executive vice-president of the consumer-products group. Umesh came to LSI Logic via its acquisition of C-Cube, a public company where he served as president and CEO. Previously, Umesh held management positions at VLSI Technology, serving as executive vice-president of the consumer and computing products groups. He began his career at Advanced Micro Devices. Umesh also has extensive global work experience, having established R&D centers in both China and India starting in the late 1990s.

Umesh holds a bachelor’s of technology from the Indian Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University. He is also active on advisory boards at Stanford.
